Swire Properties Supports Hong Kong Community to Fight Fifth Wave of Pandemic

As the fifth wave of the pandemic continues to spread across Hong Kong, Swire Properties is taking various actions to support the fight against COVID-19 and keep the wider community safe.

Rental Relief to Retail Tenants
The retail industry continues to be greatly impacted by the pandemic. Continuing its collaborative approach, Swire Properties will provide rental relief to its retail tenant partners on a case-by-case basis to help them get through this difficult time.

Facilities for Isolation and Quarantine
With the surge in suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases, Swire Properties fully supports the Government's Community Isolation Facility Hotel Scheme to meet the target of securing 7,000 to 10,000 hotel rooms for the community. The Company has submitted the registration of intention to the Government for Novotel Citygate Hotel, a 440-room hotel facility in Tung Chung, to participate in the programme. Novotel Citygate has already been accepted by the Government as a designated quarantine hotel for the seventh cycle, effective from 1 March. Additionally, EAST Hong Kong has been operating as a quarantine hotel since 1 February.

Swire Properties has also reviewed various options across its portfolio and has offered additional premises as vaccination and/or testing centres. The Company is currently in discussions with the Government on providing these spaces as supporting facilities for the community.

Donation of Rapid Testing Kits to Children in Special Residential Childcare Services
Swire Properties is funding the Hong Kong Council of Social Services to offer 20,000 free rapid testing kits to more than 4,000 children who are in special residential childcare services supported by over 20 NGOs in Hong Kong. This will help to facilitate the timely tracking of infected cases amongst these children, in order to ensure they can receive medical care promptly.

Promotion of "Vaccine Pass" Initiative
To raise greater awareness of the Government's "Vaccine Pass" initiative that will come into effect on 24 February, Swire Properties will broadcast the Government's videos in its shopping malls, including Pacific Place, Cityplaza ad Citygate Outlets. Circulars were also issued to retail tenants and residents to provide more details about the scheme.
