Marine Services > Offshore Support Services

Swire Pacific Offshore has a global focus, providing a wide range of services to the offshore oil and gas industry.

Pacific Orca is the world's largest windfarm installation vessel.
Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) is a trusted name in the offshore marine industry. Established in 1975, the company has built a reputation as a leading service provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, with a network that spans the globe.

Swire Pacific Offshore currently owns and operates more than 75 offshore support vessels and will have a fleet of more than 100 vessels by the end of 2015. SPO's fleet is modern, with an average age of ten years, and the majority of its vessels are equipped with dynamic positioning systems (DP1 or DP2). The fleet includes a mix of Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) Vessels, Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), Ice Breaking Supply Vessels (IBSV), Anchor Handling Tugs (AHT), and Seismic Survey Vessels. Two windfarm installation vessels are set to enter into service. SPO is fully equipped to support a wide range of offshore activities, including drilling, production, exploration, pipe-lay, subsea construction and Floating Production Storage and Offloading operations. SPO and its subsidiaries are also equipped to cater to seismic, salvage and environmental response requirements, as well as windfarm installation and support.

With a strong emphasis on operational excellence and a proactive attitude towards Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE), SPO places great importance on providing reliable, quality services to its clients. The establishment in 2007 of a dedicated marine training centre, equipped with a state-of-the-art vessel simulator, has reinforced this commitment to high standards – even under the challenging conditions presented by harsh operating environments. The simulator underwent a multi-million dollar upgrade in 2011, so that SPO's marine personnel can train on the latest generation of vessels even before they leave the shipyard.

Headquartered in Singapore, SPO and its subsidiaries have regional offices in Angola, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Cameroon, Denmark, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Philippines, Russia, Scotland and the United Arab Emirates, and operate vessels in every major oil exploration region outside of North America.

SPO established its Survey Services Division following the acquisition of the business and assets of the Salvin group in 2007. The division is focused on providing marine support to companies engaged in geophysical exploration and offshore seismic surveys, as well as the rental of equipment to these customers.
