Of the Grade A office buildings wholly owned by Swire Properties in Hong Kong, 13 have achieved a Platinum rating under Hong Kong's Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM), underscoring the company's commitment to sustainability. Swire Properties aims to achieve BEAM Platinum rating for its new investment projects in Hong Kong, and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold standard for the new key developments in Mainland China.
In 2008, the company formed Swire Hotels, a wholly owned subsidiary, to create and manage intriguing urban hotels in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the UK. These include The Upper House and EAST in Hong Kong and The Opposite House and EAST in Beijing. The hotels aim to provide an exceptional experience for travellers who seek individuality, style and personalised service.
