Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited's ("HAECO's") landing gear overhaul facility, Taikoo (Xiamen) Landing Gear Services Co. Ltd. ("TALSCO") in Xiamen, China, held a contract signing ceremony at the Singapore Airshow today with China Airlines for the overhaul of seventeen ship sets of Boeing 747-400 landing gears.
TALSCO will provide China Airlines with technical support, including rotable assets supply, AOG support, configuration analysis, fleet analysis, and sampling inspection for the entire fleet of Boeing 747-400s for the airline. Induction of the landing gears is expected between 2013 and 2015.
TALSCO possesses comprehensive landing gear overhaul capabilities include repair / overhaul of Boeing 777, 767, 757, 747, 737NG, 737CL and Airbus A320 installation level landing gear. The company is approved by the authorities to carry out special processes for non-landing gear parts: Nondestructive Inspection, Grinding, Shot Peening, Plating and Painting. TALSCO has also invested in a rotable pool of spare landing gears, namely, Boeing 737NG, 737CL, 747, 757, 767 and 777 to better serve customers' needs.
