Swire Trust

Swire Trust

The Swire Group Charitable Trust (Swire Trust) is part of the wider Swire group, which was established in 1816 and began its Chinese Mainland operations in 1866. Swire Trust was established in 1983 as the philanthropic arm of Swire Pacific Limited. The Trust receives annual income from companies in the Swire group in Hong Kong based on a percentage of Swire Pacific Limited’s profit. The Trust is a Hong Kong charity registered under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, and is overseen by a Philanthropy Council.

Guided by the Swire family motto – Esse Quam Videri – the Trust is motivated by altruism and aims to act for the direct benefit of society and greater good.
