Swire Trust

The Swire Group Charitable Trust (Swire Trust) is part of the wider Swire Group, which was established in 1816 and began its Chinese Mainland operations in 1866. Swire Trust was established in 1983 as the philanthropic arm of Swire Pacific Limited. The Trust receives annual income from companies in the Swire Group in Hong Kong based on a percentage of Swire Pacific Limited’s profit. The Trust is a Hong Kong charity registered under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, and is overseen by a Philanthropy Council.

Swire Trust is motivated by altruism and aims to act for the direct benefit of society and greater good.

In celebration of Swire’s 150 years of doing business in Hong Kong, Swire Trust launched the TrustTomorrow initiative in 2020. Over the following three years, the initiative funded more than 70 projects spanning Education, Marine Conservation and the Arts, and helped those most in need during the pandemic. By collaborating with over 100 NGOs, TrustTomorrow touched the lives of over two million people and created long-lasting, positive change that will be sustained into the future.
