Air Services Arrangement with the Mainland

Cathay Pacific Airways respects the outcome of the latest Mainland/HKSAR Air Services Arrangement, which provides scope for us to apply for additional passenger services to Beijing as well as launch passenger services to Xiamen and all-cargo services to Shanghai, subject to government approval. We remain keen and committed to better serve key Mainland cities in order to strengthen Hong Kong's position as the pre-dominant gateway to China.

In order to defend the competitiveness of Hong Kong International Airport as the predominant hub in the region, it is essential that the pace of liberalisation of air links between Hong Kong and the Mainland catches up with that seen between China and the rest of the world. This is vital for the overall interest of Hong Kong - not just one or a number of airlines.

We look forward to seeing more services from Hong Kong to the Mainland in the near future.
