Cathay Pacific Airways has been named Best Airline in the World and Best Airline First Class in the 2012 Business Traveller China Awards. The annual awards, now in their eighth year, reflect the highest praise bestowed by China's frequent travellers on various service providers with connections to the Mainland.
The awards were presented in Shanghai yesterday as Business Traveller China celebrated its 10th anniversary. The results of the 2012 awards were based on the magazine's reader poll which ran from July to September this year.
A comprehensive network and quality products and services are the key elements that helped Cathay Pacific lift the Best Airline in the World award.
The airline has been rooted in Hong Kong for more than 66 years and today connects the city to 170 destinations around the world. Cathay Pacific brings traffic to and from the world's biggest growth engine through the Hong Kong hub. The airline continues to make significant investments in products that enrich the passenger experience, while its pursuit of service excellence, and its personalised "Service Straight From the Heart", help to set the airline apart in what is a highly competitive industry.
Cathay Pacific won the Best Airline First Class accolade for the second consecutive year. Featuring one of the longest and widest beds in the market and complemented by the airline's exemplary service, its First Class product has proved to be very popular among passengers since its launch. In September, the airline won the Best Airline First Class honour in the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Travel Awards.
Commenting on the awards, Cathay Pacific Chief Executive John Slosar said: "It is a great honour for our airline to receive these two awards from Business Traveller China. As Hong Kong's home carrier, we have worked hard to develop a world-class international network from our home city, offering passengers top-notch products and the best service in the air. We are deeply committed to developing Hong Kong as a premier aviation hub and gateway to Mainland China through building convenient connections for travellers.
"These latest awards are very meaningful because they were voted for by the travelling public, and are a real tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our whole team. They are also testament to the Hong Kong spirit of excellence that Cathay Pacific strives to promote."

Apart from being among the longest and widest in the sky, Cathay Pacific's First Class seat can easily recline 180 degrees into a full-length, fully flat bed. Privacy screens on the aisle side and between the centre seats transform the seating area into a secure and cosy private relaxation suite. | |
Cathay Pacific recognises each and every one of its First Class passengers as an individual and a highly valued customer, giving them a sense of special recognition. |
