Dragonair Named Best Regional Airline for Fifth Consecutive Year at TTG Travel Awards

(HONG KONG) Dragonair is proud to have been named "Best Regional Airline" at the 25th Annual TTG Travel Awards Ceremony held in Bangkok on Thursday night (2 October). This is the fifth consecutive year the carrier has been given this honour.

The TTG Travel Awards, presented by leading regional publisher TTG Travel Trade Publishing, have been recognising the luminaries of the travel industry since 1989. Awardees are determined by votes cast across the Asia Pacific region by print and online subscribers of TTG Asia, TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTG–BTmice China and TTG Asia Luxury.

"We are delighted to be honoured at the TTG Travel Awards as the region’s best carrier for the fifth year running." said Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Algernon Yau. "I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the readers who have consistently voted for Dragonair, as well as the great Dragonair team for their contribution to our continued success."

As part of a continuing effort to provide the best travel experience for its customers, Dragonair has seen a full-scale transformation of its inflight products over the past 16 months, with new First, Business Class and Economy Class cabins being introduced along with a brand-new on-demand inflight entertainment system, StudioKA.

Dragonair has also been busy expanding its network. The airline has launched or resumed 15 destinations since April 2012, marking the biggest expansion in the carrier’s history. Two new destinations, Penang and Denpasar, were added earlier this year.

"The growing demand for air travel across the Asia Pacific region, and in China in particular, offers tremendous opportunities for the aviation industry," Mr Yau said. "At Dragonair we will continue working to further enhance our products and services in order to provide a world-class travel experience for this growing customer base."
