Dragonair today announced that it will operate 10 weekly flights between Hong Kong and Penang effective from 30 March 2014, further strengthening the airline's network in Asia.
Penang will be Dragonair's second destination in Malaysia and becomes the 14th destination to have been launched or resumed by the airline since April 2012. Dragonair currently operates daily flights between Hong Kong and Kota Kinabalu.
The Penang service will be operated by Dragonair's fleet of Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a two-class configuration. In addition to a daily flight departing Hong Kong in the afternoon, additional flights will go to Penang every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning, giving Dragonair passengers more flexibility when planning their travel itinerary.
The new service to Penang marks an important step in building Dragonair's presence in the Malaysian market, where it launched its very first flight - to Kota Kinabalu - in 1985.
The Dragonair flight schedule for Penang (PEN), effective from 30 March 2014, is as follows. All times are local and subject to government approval:
Note: The schedule may change without prior notice.
Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific will maintain its four daily flights between Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. Together, Dragonair and Cathay Pacific will operate a total of 45 weekly flights to Malaysia.
