Swire Properties' Sustainable Development Work Recognised at the Global, Regional and Local Levels

Swire Properties' continued efforts in sustainable development (SD) were recently recognised, with the Company winning two accolades at the World Green Building Council's (WorldGBC) Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards (2018), and being listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) and the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index 2018.

Leading these honours are the Business Leadership in Sustainability and Special Recognition: Better Places for People awards, which the Company won during the WorldGBC's Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards (2018). This year, the Company was nominated by the Hong Kong Green Building Council to represent the city and compete against 15 corporations from the Asia Pacific region. The judges, in their assessment comments, applauded Swire Properties' SD efforts which were carried out by employees at every level of the organisation; and in investing in the health and well-being of its tenants and staff.

The Company was also listed in three major SD-related indices, and for the second consecutive year, Swire Properties was the only constituent company from Hong Kong and Mainland China to be listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index - with only 20 real estate developers in the world included in the index this time around.

Swire Properties also placed in the top 20 percent of the 903 entities which took part in the GRESB this year; with the Company receiving the "GRESB 5 Stars" rating, the highest possible score. Adding to this exciting news was the fact that GRESB named Swire Properties Global Sector Leader in the Other (mixed-use development) category.

And in Hong Kong, the Company is currently number one in the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index 2018, obtaining the highest total score among the 30 companies and real estate developers which made the list. The Company has had its sustainability rating raised to "AAA", the highest possible rating, which has not been awarded since 2014^.
