Swire Properties to Launch EAST Hotel at INDIGO Project in Beijing

Swire Properties announces today to launch EAST, Beijing, a lifestyle business hotel, in its joint-venture retail-led mixed-use development, INDIGO, located in Jiang Tai, Chaoyang District.

Managed by Swire Hotels, EAST, Beijing is the second hotel from the brand subsequent to the debut of EAST, Hong Kong in January this year. It is also Swire Hotels' second property in Beijing, after the opening of The Opposite House at Sanlitun Village in August 2008.

EAST, Beijing, scheduled for opening in the first quarter of 2012, is designed for business travellers who appreciate a convenient, stylish and contemporary environment. The hotel's 369 rooms and suites offer urban and park views overseeing INDIGO's 17-hectare outdoor park. Swire Hotels' reputation for innovative restaurants and bars will be continued with three new venues plus an executive club to make business travellers feel right at home. Beyond the restaurants and bars in EAST, Beijing, guests and visitors can enjoy the great variety of dining options in the INDIGO shopping mall, which will have a seamless connection to the hotel.

EAST, Beijing's leisure facilities will include indoor pools, fitness and training facilities. The hotel will also have a contemporary meetings and seminar venue, as well as outdoor green spaces to accommodate corporate function or private event requests.

With a site area of approximately 59,000 sqm (over 631,000 sq ft), INDIGO has a total floor area of approximately 176,000 sqm (over 1.89 million sq ft) * and comprises a trendsetting shopping mall, an international Grade A office tower and the lifestyle business hotel, EAST, Beijing. INDIGO's prime location offers business travellers superb accessibility with a 15-minute drive to Beijing Capital International Airport or to the CBD, plus an in-house Subway Line 14 station that connects directly to the capital's major subway lines. The project is a joint-venture development by Swire Properties and Sino-Ocean Land and is scheduled to open for the Fall/Winter season in 2011.
