Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited ("HAECO") announced today the opening of a new maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Jinjiang, Fujian Province. Located at Quan Zhou Export Processing Zone, Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, the new facility is operated by the company Taikoo Spirit AeroSystems (Jinjiang) Composite Co. Ltd ("Taikoo Spirit") whose shareholders include HAECO (41.8%), Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. (31.54%), Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (10.76%), Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. (5.45%), China Airlines Ltd., (5.45%) and Quanzhou Export Processing Zone Investment Management Co. Ltd. (5%).
The facility is among the first in Mainland China to provide repair and overhaul services to composite components on both narrow & wide body aircraft. Taikoo Spirit has invested over US$27.2 million for its infrastructure, equipment, tool, inventory and staff training.
