Swire Guangdong Coca-Cola (Huizhou) Limited officially opened its new production plant at Huizhou's Zhongkai Hi-tech Zone on 22nd June, marking a new milestone in the history of Swire Beverages' bottling business on the Mainland. The plant, with a total land area of 77,610 square metres, has an annual production capacity of more than 400,000 tonnes of carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks, and will be the largest Coca-Cola production facility in Mainland China.
The new Huizhou plant represents a total investment of RMB 175 million by principal shareholders, Swire Guangdong Coca-Cola Ltd. (60%), Swire Coca-Cola HK Ltd. (20.4%), Guangdong Foodstuffs Import & Export (Group) Corporation (12%), and COFCO Beverages (Guangzhou) Ltd. (7.6%).
Mr John Slosar, Managing Director of Swire Beverages, said that the Huizhou bottling plant would be Swire Beverages' largest operation on the Mainland, and expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr Huang Yebin, Mayor of the People's Government of Huizhou Municipality and to Government departments at all levels of the People's Government of Guangdong Province and Huizhou City for the tremendous support they had given to this project.
